Forecast Discussion

Our weather so far this week has been determined by the location of a front stalled to our south and the timing of lows moving west to east along the front. That pattern continues through Thursday; however, the track will be a bit farther south than the previous two.

The latest in the line of lows along the front is exited to our east this morning. We have lots of clouds and cool temperatures but little or no rain today. A stray snowflake is possible at highest elevations this morning.

We will be on the northern fringe of rain associated with the last of these lows. It will move from the Western Gulf today to South Georgia Thursday and then into the Atlantic. We'll have areas of light rain later tonight and into the daytime Thursday. Cool temperatures persist.

An arctic front sweeps through Friday morning. Clearing skies, colder temperatures, and gusty winds follow. Saturday will be clear and cold.

Dry weather will hold Friday through Tuesday. I'll have to check today when was the last time we have had 5 consecutive dry days... it's been a long time. Milder temperatures return next week as high pressure moves across the Southeast and into the Atlantic. The next front arrives next Wednesday.
